AXL ROSE And SEBASTIAN BACH In The Studio: The Photographic Evidence
September 26, 2007RollingStone.com has posted a photo of GUNS N' ROSES singer Axl Rose in the studio with former SKID ROW frontman Sebastian Bach laying down vocals on Bach's first solo album since 1999, "Angel Down". Check it out at this location.
Regarding how the studio collaboration came about, Sebastian told BLABBERMOUTH.NET last month, "I texted Axl. I go, 'Hey, dude, when are you gonna come and sing on my record?' I was just joking. But he never ceases to amaze me. And his response was, 'When? Where? Where is the studio?' I was, like, 'Pinch me, I'm dreaming.'"
Due on November 20, "Angel Down" was produced by Roy Z (BRUCE DICKINSON, HALFORD, JUDAS PRIEST),and recorded at Sound City Studios and Under City Studios in Los Angeles, CA. Joining Bach in the studio were guitarists "Metal" Mike Chlasciak and Johnny Chromatic, Bobby Jarzombek on drums, and Steve DiGiorgio on bass. Axl Rose makes a special guest appearance contributing vocals on three of the album's songs — "(Love is a) Bitchslap", a cover of AEROSMITH's "Back In the Saddle" and "Stuck Inside".
Bach recently gave a quick update on GUNS N' ROSES' long-delayed new album, "Chinese Democracy", to the Albany Times Union. "I've heard 'Chinese Democracy' and it rocks, dude," he said. "In fact, I sing on one of the songs, 'Sorry'. He's [Axl] so prolific, dude, that he's recorded enough material for at least three albums, and it's all fucking awesome. It has the rawness and the power of 'Appetite for Destruction', but it also has the grandiosity of 'November Rain'. It's just fucking awesome."
